How to open the trunk of a chevy malibu.
The trunk button still does not work. I looked through the owner's manual and found on page 5-105 a schematic for the Rear Compartment Fuse Block. This appears to have the relay for the Trunk Release (item 22 for those playing along at home). The problem is, the manual states this block is located INSIDE the trunk.
The battery on the left/driver side of the trunk is for 2.5 2014-2015 Malibus with start stop. And I found it: cut and spliced a few of the wires under the trunk lid, and now the ONLY way the trunk latch can possibly trigger (electrically, anyway) is if the button on the trunk lid and the button on the fob are held for 1/2 to 1 second at the same time, single press.
