I have taken my new 2021 Jeep Wrangler into the dealership 4 times so far for a USB connector that does not work in the center console. They replaced the radio. The next appointment they say they will replace the center console again. I will try another cord but my cord works fine for I phone 7 users and apply car play works for them in my Jeep. But iPhone 8 is not.

I’m pretty sure it’s not a CarPlay issue. The console USB connection comes from the center dash USB (if you take the center part off it’s the black micro USB connection on the right). I ended up using a micro USB to female USB in that spot and then plugged in an Apple charging wire, which I ran to the top of the dash.

I have the same issue with you. I have a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. It has a type-a port and a type-c port for the carplay. Weirdly, I tried all my type-a to type-c cables on my car. None of them activate the carplay, some of them I confirm it is a USB3 or data cable. I even tried to use a type-a to type-c adapter with a c-c cable.
