I shot a number of bows and narrowed it down to 3: Hoyt RX-7 Ultra, Bowtech SS34 and Mathews V3X 33. I'd be happy taking anyone of them home. They way I ranked them were: Speed (30.5" draw, 70 lbs, 450 grain arrow): V3X 33, RX-7 Ultra, SS34. Cost (with sales): V3X 33 ($950), SS34 ($1300), RX-7 Ultra ($1400)

However, beginners may benefit more from PSE, thanks to their lower range price options. – Budget: If you have a limited budget, PSE offers more affordable options. Hoyt, on the other hand, can be a better pick if you are ready to invest in high-end models. – Preference for Speed vs. Durability: If top speed is your foremost priority, PSE ...I did not chrono either of them as there is plenty of info out there on where these bows come in speed wise. The consensus is that the Mathews is 3-5 fps faster than the Hoyt. Lift 33. Where do I start. It is quiet, fast for my draw length and after a 4 hour session at Austin Archery Club I can say it was pleasant without any stress on my arms or shoulders. And it is very quiet.The Hoyt Torrex will kill anything the VTM will, it’s a <10 fps difference, that’s not gonna matter on game. It will probably be as accurate as a VTM as well. The main upside to the VTM is the better cam and tuning system.
