The town of Cut Bank is a pretty far drive from Glacier - not an ideal base. Yes, I would probably spend a night on the west side if you can find something close to the entrance to reduce your drive time. If you only have 4 days, I’d stick to Glacier and not visit Flathead Lake on this trip. There’s plenty in GNP to keep you busy.
