3.2K Messages. 8 years ago. I think you are confusing reports of lost or damaged warranty returns with insurance returns. Obviously, the insurance phone is going to arrive damaged/broken. I've not seen any reports of Asurion denying a claim because the phone is damaged. OTOH, ATT seems to bill a LOT of warranty returns because of physical damage.
