Darkness Falls A21. PC. Hi Survivors, I am about to start a solo run and need some input to decide on my first class. From the descriptions I like Survivalist, Laborer and Security. I would usually take Hunter because I love to play my games as stealthy as possible but I want a fun challenge a bit more like reality for A21.

Early blood moons are easily the biggest challenge in DF, so having a properly reinforced base makes all the difference. Second class to unlock is scientist. Erika Hammer is a legendary hammer that uses less stamina than the plasma and titanium versions. Of course you have to get it in loot. From the little I've played with Darkness Falls, it's brutal pretty much from the off. A brawler build isn't impossible but you definitely need some ranged power.

I've just reached level 114 in Darkness Falls, completing all classes except for Hunter. The road to this point hasn't been easy, especially when I hit a wall of red demon-infused zombies in [my previous play through . It was a nightmare - I couldn't even loot or complete quests without being chased down and pummeled by those relentless red pills.
DF veteran here with some tips: Always take laborer as your starting class. Completing your class quests gives you a helmet light, a nail gun, and early access to better tools, workbenches, concrete and steel. You want a concrete base for the day 7 horde and steel for day 21. Scout quests are fast and easy.
Afterwards, I tend to go laborer for the benches and tools, security for horde nights, and round things off with the other classes as the mood strikes. As long as you loot crack-a-books, you'll get most basic skills that you need anyways, so it's rare to have a *need* for an ideal class lineup.Welcome to the RPG Darkness Falls. You can wrench tyres lying around (on the road and pass n gas’s etc). I usually get a wheel every 3rd odd tyre. Haven’t tried with a mining tool so unsure if that works. I think something changed a while ago so you can't get tire drops from loot anymore. You're going to have to get the mechanic class.
