Look inside fr oil moving or leaking from above and that will be the area causing you the problem. OP. Adjustment alone will not fix a system that has excessive internal hydraulic oil leakage. If the lift will not hold a load for more than a couple of minutes you should repair the lift while the cover is off for adjustment. The culprit was the valve in the back of the pump had seized up in its bore over winter, was stuck open and was not allowing the pump to build any pressure.
