The Marlin version is, fortunately, less intrusive than the cross-bolt safety Winchester used on the Model 94 between 1992 and 2003. With this safety on, the rifle can be safely carried with the hammer in the full cock position.The Glenfield 25 is from 1978 and uses the old style of magazine with the release lever built into it. The magazine clips onto a metal piece up inside the mag well. The Marlin 25N is from 1995 and uses the newer style magazine. Hi everyone, I recently installed a Williams receiver peep on my recently refinished glenfield 30a. After installing the peep sight and included front finer optic sight, I hit the range. Upon shooting with the peep sight, I realized that I’m about a foot high at 50 yards even with the elevation adjustment on the peep as far as it will go.Special in decent condition will fetch $350 or more (they are hard to find in that caliber). I replaced the stamped dear head birch stocks (which I still have) with some new Walnut checkered stocks I got off of ebay!
