I think in that case you can manually lock the car - using the toggle near the inside handle to open the door. don't use the push button to lock all the doors, that won't work either. Manually flip the toggle on the driver's door, and close the door (the car doesn't know the state of the manual toggle.

Also, if you start the car and manually press the physical lock buttons, the exit and close the door, the doors will remain locked.
