If the valves are tight when cold, then as the engine warms up it might be holding valves open and you would lose compression and power. If you have a compression tester try it right after your power loss, while the engine is still hot. I know in an earlier post that I reported the secondary wiring being "open" on the rear coil but after removing both coils and placing them on the bench I came up with the following readings: Rear Coil. I took carb off and complely disasembled. Soaked in cleaner and made sure all passages were clear. Now has new main jet, needle valve, gaskets on float bowl and intake. Fuel pump works it will fill bowl, but fuel will not pass thru carb while cranking engine. Here is your fix. The flooding problem with gas pissing out of the carbs is caused by the float needles not seating properly, most likely from rust in the tank seeping into the float bowls and lodging up in there. I would suggest to clean the tank, all fuel lines, fuel inlets on carb, fuel filter, petcock, float bowls, and the needles to solve ...
Remove the spark plugs. Disconnect the "hose" that provides air to the converter box. Put a thin screwdirver into the spark plug hole for #1 cylinder (the front one). Take a 19mm socket on a 12" extension with a ratchet and stick into the hole left by the hose into the converter.
Dot to dot. The 99 and newer Mule 2510, 3010, and 4010 use steel gears. So they will never fail again. Plastic was used for quiet operation originally, but Kawasaki found out that people never changed oil in them and the plastic gear didn't like not having clean oil.
