A friend of mine had a similar issue. Your touchscreen may not actually be broken, something could be pressing against it. Try shoving a toothbrush or a thin piece of paper/cardboard under the edges. It's a pressure based touchscreen, it's not like a touch screen on a cell phone or Nintendo switch.
