On PC I downloaded the extensible Followers Framework mod and used it to set my follower’s “residence” to the farmhouse, then I asked them to be my steward, and then dismissed them.Farming cc also is right next to Rorikstead, so slotting in your favorite rework of that town and add a couple stores means you feel like you have a full community and don't need to travel every time you need something (mostly useful if you don't use fast travel). I like farming cc quite a bit, but heljarchen is an excellent free alternative.I think I recall needing to bring the follower into the farmhouse (not the bunkhouse) for the dialogue to appear.
