Was really pissed off and tried going back to my save point before the Super Bowl and restarting from there but got the same result. How TO FIX: switch user to another team and fire that teams defensive coordinator. Switch back to your user team and that coach that was fired ...Just had the same thing happen (offensive coordinator). Created a new coach under “User Teams”, assigned to the Packers, fired their offensive coordinator, switched back to my main team, hired the newly made available offensive coordinator, switched back to the Packers and retired.

Basically you need to FIRE your OC the week of the SB... then go to FILL spots on menu to [re]hire the OC (before advancing). Then you can hire (or re-hire) the OC, and you will not get stuck with the FATAL ERROR (you need to repeat ever year). Then you can go hire whoever you want before the cpu signs all the coaches and your new offensive and defensive coordinator will not disappear.
