Second, select what material you want to use by left clicking; for walls: left is sticks, up is wood and right is stone; for roofs: left is straw, up is wood and right is planks. Left click to build the structure as normal.

BUT all the houses will look the same if you want them to provide the best insulation and to spend less firewood during winter in the process.
