In this game, you need your weapons, even bows, of cold iron. Masterwork, means the weapon is of good quality, and add +1 to attack. But nothing to damage. Masterwork is a prerequisite to magic weapon. +1 weapons will have +1 to attack +1 to damage. (so if you upgrade a masterwork weapon with a magic +1 weapon, you will gain +1 to damage)
