If the issue still occurs, check the Sony® Support Web site to see if a firmware update is available to resolve the issue.Pull away some of the cotton and make a miniature mop. Soak the mop in pure alcohol or tape head cleaner. Do not use "rubbing" alcohol. It must be pure. Gently drag the mop back and forth over the lens a few times, being careful not to apply pressure. Put the cover back on and allow the alcohol to evaporate.
I have the UBP-X700 and have the same issue. It never freezes when playing DVDs or BluRay - only UHDs. It froze on TopGun UHD purchased brand new. But when I cleaned the disc, it worked fine. It seems to be a thing with UHDs in that they need to be cleaned before being played even when they are new.
