1. 515. Oct 2, 2021. #1. I started using the AIO called Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 420 with Ryzen 9 5900x. My computer case is Phanteks P500A DRGB. The processor runs at a constant speed of 4.6 GHz. Temperatures are between 38-42 degrees when the processor is idle. It works between 74-77 degrees when under load (cinebench R23).

Factory clocks are already quite high on 7900x, meaning if you push them higher you get very little gains for quite a bit more heat and power usage. Temps are holding steady at 95-98c at just idle. the allowed airflow of the case and the fan setup along with this AiO cooler... i just built my pc and the cpu is getting 63.5 to 70.2c idle when i tried to run fortnite it jumped to 95 and stayed there. I added 2 additional 140mm fans to the case to exhaust. So now I have 2 140mm fans bringing air in and 2 Out, plus two on the radiator. That's normal my 7900x idles in the high 40's low 50's stay at or below 75 while gaming the chip just runs hot I'm using an EK nucleus lux d 360. I don’t have an am5 cpu but these cpus can running pretty hot in games. I’ve seen 80-87c in heavy cpu games. They boost aggressively when needed.
