If you still read zero volts. check the wires going to/from the switch. While you have D3 disconnected, check resistance across the wires going to the motor. You should read resistance of the windings, which would be just a few ohms. Open or zero ohms would indicate a problem with the wire. 2005 2.5i, automatic.

To get them to come on again, un-lock the passenger window controls. P.S. Happened to me when I first got my car. It freaked me out, until I figured it out...

The breaker, assuming it's working probably, is clicking because there's a short, or at least an excessive current load, downstream.
