It's simply more user-friendly. ArkOS is less pretty and less fun. But it can do some things that JELOS can't. For example, it supports rumble with the RGB30, while (as far as I know) JELOS still doesn't support. Some users swear they've had better performance in ArkOS with some emulators, as well.

ArkOS a little bit more setup, but more options to tweak if you want and slightly more performant for higher tier systems. At least that’s how it was explained to me. Unzip. Copy it into your roms subfolder called jelos (create 1 if you don’t already have it). Then on your device enter tools - file, and navigate roms/ jelos and the file will be there. Copy it and navigate to storage - emulation station. Then into themes and paste it in there. After it’s in emulation station you can go back to roms/ jelos ...

RGB30 R-button on ArkOS. So I pushed the R button, next to the power button. I assumed it meant it would restart the system. Now all I'm getting is a black screen. LED lights up like the unit is turning on but the display won't turn on. Also I've tried the brightness hotkey and that doesn't work. I had real issues with JELOS on the RGB30, same as others. Arkos isn't too much of a train wreck. It's dated, for sure, but still widely used. JelOS on the other hand is a bit too modern--moving so quickly that something's always broken somewhere, and even though there might be a fix, the fact that nine times out of ten it's an issue you had to seek out information about and resolve is offputting ...
