I used a pair stacked on the front and a pair stacked on the back of the insert, so a total of 1.12mm (.045in) of spacing was added. The whole idea of converting an Old Army to shoot cartridges seems weird to me. As far as having a pistol that shoots .45LC, a regular Blackhawk would be easier to load and unload and could be bought for less money.
