I had a slow leak @ the Fuel Petcock and at the mechanical Fuel Pump inlet mounted on the Injector Pump. I have replaced the Fuel Petcock (brand New) as well as the exact replacement Metallic Fuel Line ...The 6600 has a somewhat improved hydraulic system over the 5000, along with an improved electrical system and a good iso-mounted cab if it has a Q-Cab. Otherwise they are very similar tractors. The other changes would be minor and a late 5000 is just slightly less power than an early 6600 (68 vs 70)...liquid-cooled. The gasoline engine was available on the 6600 through 1978. Starting in 1979, only the diesel engine was available. Displacement: 256 ci. 4.2 L. Re: ford 7710 fuel problems in reply to soundguy, 11-23-2005 04:24:05. check for water in the system. Im not sure but i think you can drain the lower tank. Im assuming it has two tanks like ours does. Check first by opening the water drain on the fuel filter. Add a bottle of dry gas too.

Remove the fuel line, the one coming from the tank, at the injector pump. It should run a steady stream about 1/2 the diameter of a pencil. The Ford 3600 tractor is known to have hydraulic issues such as low hydraulic pressure, slow lifting, and hydraulic leaks. Aug 5, 2018 · Check the front axle for wear in the king pins and joints. Check the 3 pt lift goes up and down smoothly. Check the clutch works properly ( try pulling away in 7th or 8t) on the flat) and test the brakes. If it has a bubble cab then rust could be a real issue. Tyres are expensive. Thanks for your reply.
Ford 4600 won't start. I just got this tractor with the purchase of some property. Its a 3 cylinder diesel. I was told it runs great it was used in October of this year. But the battery needs charging. I purchase a new 4 dlt battery and cleaned all the connections. The tractor cranks fine well over the recommend minimum" 200" r.p.m. for starting.

It could be a fuel filter. However, if I understand this right, the engine is bouncing back and forth quite rythmically from 600-800 rpm. That would be in the govenor.
