I tried a 7 pound spring but it felt sluggish in the return. 8 or 9 pounds is the sweet spot. No reliability issues with any ammo. The P is a four pound trigger.

rangerhi • 7 mo. ago. Don't ever drop the slide on an empty chamber in any 1911 or 2011. It will wreck the trigger job and possibly some of the internals. Also, don't let the hammer drop with the slide off while cleaning. Make sure and ride it forward by hand, so you don't accidentally pull the trigger while cleaning.
