Master lost sector not dropping exotics.
N1gh7crawler • 2 yr. ago. A few days ago I was running concealed void for the helmets probably 15-20 times before the hunter helmet exotic dropped. Switched to my warlock, the warlock exotic dropped on the first try. Moral of the story, RNG is a crapshoot. Keep at the grind, your luck will turn around at some point. 1.
The rewards are random. Just because the reward [i]may[/i] be an exotic helm doesn't mean it will (1) actually be an exotic and (2) even if it is, there is no guarantee that it'll be one you don't yet have. This is the nature of non-quest Destiny rewards (lost sectors are not quests). The last three clears only gave glimmer, whole others have cores and blue berry gear. He even got a flawless clear. The Titan was brand new, started it a few hours ... RNG. The lost sector location doesn't matter beyond what it says in the legend/master description. If it says exotic arms, you won't get exotic helmets. Even if it doesn't show up as possible rewards, it does still drop exotics (shitty rng of course). I think you need yo be above 1800 for the Legend LS to show. If it takes 2-3 times longer to run a Master over a Legend and or you have a higher chance of failure, just run the Legend. You should get a drop around 10-20 runs on average, but it could be as few as 2-3 runs if RNG really likes you.
His experience is mine, many others with whom I play, and the general consensus in this sub. For almost every Lost Sector, you are better off running Legend because you can complete the Legend version 3-4x in the same amount of time it takes to complete the Master version once, and this ends up gives you more and better chances because the Master drop rate is not 3-4x higher than Legend.
I have done platinum runs many multiple times on MASTER Sepulcher lost sectors around 40+ times over 3 days and ZERO exotic. Then on Quarry I can run that in 2-3 minutes on master and even skip champions and still get exotics, like 5 exotics in 10 runs, so it is 100% BS that you have to have platinum runs for a chance at exotics.
I know last season when you solo any lost sector you would get the new season Exotic gear plus old ones with better rolls. Did they change it to having to do a master version to get the new exotic gear or is it not just dropping?
