A base or mid-range model RAV4 is perfectly reasonable and competitive in the marketplace. You pay a premium for them used. Rav4 less than a 4Runner or, god forbid, Tacoma but it's a premium nonetheless. Their new prices are within the realm of reasonable. Nothing holds its value like a Toyota truck. Plus rav was a bit cheaper. The Venza looks more refined and the RAV4 is a bit rugged looking.

Night and day difference. Hybrid is the way to go. Over all Smoother, quiter driving experience. Disliked the 8 speed tranny. I immediately missed the quick responsiveness of the e-cvt and the electric motors. I got 22 mpg on the adventure. I easily get 35-42mpg on my hybrid without trying. There is no real downside to the hybrid.

From my point of view, the "equivalent" technology packages will bring the total price of the XLE Premium up to $40100 and the XSE $41200 (so roughly a $1000 difference). In my head, the XSE has a nicer interior, the panoramic view would be amazing to have, but TBH I don't care at all about the panoramic sunroof.

Except the price it’s an absolute joke would’ve been happy if they increased something but they copy and pasted the same car point to point and slapped a 1000 dollar charge on it bought a 2023 rav 4 XSE tech back in December of 22 so hoping to get the 2024 XSE tech soon. 2019 should be reliable. Apart from noise/perhaps a jerky transmission, the LE AWD doesn’t have the transfer case issues. Shouldn’t have anything that affects reliability. Resale will be better with the new style, as well as power and fuel economy. Up to you if you decide a deal on the 2018 is worth forgoing all of that.

Before RAV (2021, hybrid made in Japan) I owned Peugeot 2008, so it's understandable why I'll vote for RAV and Toyota. For me choise was Tiguan vs RAV. Almoust year and I'll still would took RAV. Nice about RAV, especialy hybrid is a good torque and 7 liters/100 km in the city for me, a lot of space and good looking.Rav gets almost twice the gas milage, drives smoother and quieter and has quite a bit more power. Subaru was $8k cheaper for same features and is quite a bit better in the snow/mud. Also in today’s world where is is hard to find cars in stock, there seem to be way more foresters available.Otherwise it runs $3-4k+ over the trek in a touring trim with extra warranty on both. (72Mo/160kKM for my trek and 84Mo/200kKM) Also look into how the RAV4's "AWD system", I'm not sure it's permanent AWD like the Crosstreks 60/40 split (I think).
