Printing at a higher temperature may help with layer adhesion and make the parts less likely to break too. This probably won't help too much with PLA since it's inately a more stiff/brittle filament, but with PETG it might help. Nylon could work but you also want an enclosure for that as it's also prone to warping like ABS.
I've seen PLA/ABS molds, both positive and negative, used successfully. Same with TPU.
