18. May 13, 2008. #1. This is a bit of a head scratcher. I have a brand new Remington Model 700 VSSF II 204 gun, mounted the scope, took it to the range, and click. The gun would not fire. Not a dent in the primer. It appears that the bolt is moving forward on the trigger pull but the pin may not be travelling.Remove the trigger. Some trigger valves are threaded into the housing and some are held in place with roll pins. Use a wrench or tap the pins out depending on your model to remove the valve. Clean out the inside. Apply a very small amount of Vaseline to the O rings. Install the new trigger valve and reassemble.
