Zelda TOTK performance issues on steam deck. Hey guys! I've finished TOTK on my switch, but I've wanted to have it as well on the steam deck (the buttons from the switch are so small). I've been trying to leave the initial sky cave (even before the tutorial, the one where you jump and the introduction logo from the game appears while you fall).

In TOTK ( on Yuzu ) I get 4k60fps most of the time, low 50s in dense areas and crashes ( had it happen once ). Same thing on my Steam Deck, 30fps sometimes, mid 20s in dense areas. So I'll wait for it to be optimized more so I can get a locked framerate, so I think Yuzu just has to mature a little more. The addition of the scaling feature helps as games that do not run well on Deck can be toned down. The current "meta game" for great performance is either 0.50x or 0.75x render scale docked + FSR. Ryujinx is quite as robust so if a game does not run well, you are out of luck. I would actually have both installed.

Pretty much stock for me with unsafe cpu. Use the dynamic FPS mod and 30fps static. Also the steam deck controller UI mod looks great too Make sure to have cryoutilities', uma buffer at 4gb, power tools with performance mode, and update to steam beta 3.5

Plus totk runs at above 30 (solid 30fps is locked, unstable 60 unlocked) for me already. I got my OLED yesterday and compared to my LCD, PS3 emulation has improved drastically in the games i play. Top Spin 4 and Fight Night Champion play almost flawlessly now. PS2 emulation - i haven't seen any changes, still great on the games i played/tested.By default, the Steam Deck uses 1GB of VRAM.
